Exploring kumu

Explore Page

The Explore Page is the first interactive screen you'll see when opening your kumu app. From here, you may view the live users' different cover photos. You may filter from the top row to go through other live formats.

My Profile

To view your profile:

Open the app and tap your profile picture on the upper left corner of the screen. Then tap the arrow to get redirected to your profile.

Set a goal

While checking your profile, you can set up a goal where your supporters could help you by sending virtual gifts directly to your goal page. Just click on Set a goal, enter a Title, a goal description, a Goal amount, and an optional deadline. Be creative in creating your goal post to attract more possible gifters.

The goal will appear on your profile, and gifters will appear in your notifications and your goal post.

Search bar

Open your kumu app and tap the search icon in the upper right corner of your screen.

You can see a list of kumu’s most popular streamers and content there.

If you want to discover more users and content, try using the search bar by typing a user's name, a topic, or a hashtag.

Profile picture

You can add your photo as your profile picture on your profile. Tap on the camera icon on your kumu profile and choose the best image of you from your photo gallery. Position or crop it so that it fits the round frame well.

My Wallet

By tapping My Wallet, you can see your current number of coins, diamonds, and experience points. Tapping on Buy Coins will allow you to purchase more coins. Tapping on View under Diamonds will show you the breakdown from where you got your diamonds. Once you receive 50,000 diamonds, you can access a redeem button that will allow you to cash out. Clicking on Redeem on your experience points will give details on how close you are to the next Mangga Level. On the second half of the screen, you will see your most recent wallet-related transactions.

Mangga Level

Your Mangga Level represents your progress and advancement on the app. Your current level is indicated by the Mango badge next to your name on your profile and the Experience Points (EXP) page.

You can increase your level by earning experience points (EXP) by going live and sending gifts to others.

By increasing your Manggo Level, you can earn new mango badges on your kumu profile and beside your username when you enter a stream.

To check your mango level and exp points, tap on your profile icon on the upper left corner of your screen, then tap ‘My Wallet,’ and tap ‘Redeem.’

Refer to the table below to check the target EXP for the new Mango Levels.

Your timeline

You can post photos of your kumu milestones and moments, short-form videos or ‘Klips,’ pin posts and share posts on your kumu timeline!

• When you open the kumu app, tap the Karlito icon in the bottom center part of your screen and tap ‘Post.’
• Choose any photo or short video from your phone gallery or shoot on the spot.\
• Have fun with all the edit options, and add your caption and hashtags.
• Tap ‘Publish’ to post it on your timeline for the kumunity to see.

Settings

You can change your app preferences by choosing the Tab Menu and tapping on Settings.

From My Account, you may log out from the app.

To add additional ways to log in to your kumu account, you may link your Facebook account or cellphone number through Connected Accounts.

Control which notifications you’d like to receive under Notifications.

Choose the quality of the videos you view under Resolution.

Check how you are seen in the app via Privacy Settings.

Kumunity Chat

You can chat with other kumunizens on the app via Kumunity Chat! 

• Open the app and tap on the Kumunity Chat icon at the lower right side of your screen.
• In this inbox, you can find messages sent to you by your kumu friends.
• Tap the ‘new message’ icon, and then you’ll find a list of all your kumu friends. You can choose one and send them a direct message, or choose several and create a group chat.
•  To become friends on kumu, you must follow each other.
• Messages received from users that you are not following will appear as ‘message requests.’
• You can also use the search bar to find a user you’d like to message, or you can tap their username while on a live stream, then go to their profile, and tap ‘Message.’
• Once you’re in a message thread, you can also make a video call by tapping the three dots on the upper right corner of your screen, then tapping ‘Video Call.’

Notifications

Open the kumu app and tap the ‘notifications’ bell icon on the lower right corner of your screen. Here you can see your new followers, likes and comments on your posts and scheduled live streams of users you follow. You may also personalize your notification setting by tapping the gear icon.
